Overview

Gadjianku is an HR management app designed specifically for employees to handle various work-related tasks, such as requesting time off or sick leave, viewing their payroll , and accessing company information through the Gadjianku app.

Main Features In GadjianKu

Main Objectives

The main objective of this project is to redesign the existing application to make it more modern, intuitive, and consistent by employing various design methods to achieve the best possible result

Improve New Visual And Usability

Fixing The Reachable Element And Reading Pattern

The first analysis we conducted focused on reach, usability, and reading patterns. Here, we began by mapping out which areas were easy or difficult to tap, and we also used Z-patterns to analyze how users scan the screen.

Reach Usability & Z Pattern Method

Implement Z Pattern & Reach Usability

We started placing buttons in more accessible areas and positioned almost all of them at the end of the Z-pattern to ensure they serve as the final destination of a flow

Reach Usability & Z Pattern Implementation

Making Spaceable Area For Button

We also use Fitt-Law to ensure that all UI elements can be accessed individually without overlapping each other; this is one of the key elements of UI design.

Fitts Law Example

Implementing Fitt Laws

Here are some UI elements in the app that have implemented Fitts’ Law by making each button large enough to tap and providing ample spacing between elements

Making Design System

One of the changes in this redesign is the introduction of a design system, which didn’t exist before. We’ve started creating key styles and components for Gadjianku—such as button colors, forms, and much more—to ensure we have reusable components and consistent styling, and to speed up development in the future.

Design System & Style Guide

Team Presence  , Attendance , Leave & Approval

Here are some of the features of gadjianku

Team Presence : No more guessing when managing your team. Simply open the app to instantly see who is absent today—whether on leave, sick, or with other permissions. You can also view team members’ scheduled leave, so task allocation is better planned in advance.

Smart Attendance : Clock in/out directly via mobile or Personalia Web Portal without queuing at fingerprint machines. View check-in/out history, shift schedules, and weekly/monthly attendance patterns. Data syncs directly to the HR system, simplifying work hour and overtime calculations.

Leave & Approval : Submit leave, sick, or permission requests in seconds via mobile or Personalia Web Portal. Managers receive instant notifications and can approve or reject with notes. All submission history is neatly stored, making HR audits and reports easier.

Payroll Access , Team Engagement , Data Update

Here are some of the features of gadjianku

Payroll access : Access monthly payslips, download in PDF, view attendance reports, and check remaining leave anytime via mobile or Personalia Web Portal. Data security is ensured and history is recorded, strengthening transparency between employees and HR.

Team Engagement : Build a warm workplace culture with micro-engagement features: send birthday greetings, reactions, or get-well messages when colleagues are sick. These small interactions improve job satisfaction and boost retention.

Data Update : Update your address, phone number, bank details, or documents (ID, tax card) directly via app or web. Each update is queued for HR validation to ensure data remains consistent and verified.

Reflection

The lesson learned from this project is the importance of conducting an analysis to ensure that the redesign truly improves upon the previous version—such as by optimizing the workflow, applying design theory, and adding reusable components. With these improvements, it is hoped that the new version of Gadjianku will enhance user satisfaction.
